Logistics Specialist
Description
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for providing strategic planning to achieve key business objectives in logistics operations. This role acts as a subject matter expert supporting operational best practices across supply chain, trade compliance, outsourcing, operational optimization, and tools/technologies. The individual will collect, analyze, and interpret data, and implement initiatives to optimize logistics efficiency and reduce costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Experience in the 3PL field launching logistics programs for leading logistics sectors
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for business and opportunity analysis
- Benchmark competitive 3PL and carrier RFP/RFQ processes
- Support vendor selection and overall vendor operations strategy
- Review and assist in statement of work creation and contract negotiation with vendor partners
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and reduce costs
- Track, analyze, and improve warehouse performance metrics such as on-time delivery and cost savings
- Manage warehouse vendors to ensure order requirements are met with accuracy and timely delivery
- Develop initiatives from data analysis to improve accuracy and prevent recurring issues
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse order status reports, including KPIs, open orders, and closed order performance
- Build and maintain relationships with customers and warehouse vendors
- Lead project implementation to drive process improvement initiatives in warehouse quality and efficiency
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify patterns and trends
- Define new data collection and analysis processes
- Perform additional duties as assigned; job functions are subject to change at any time
Knowledge and Skills:
- Expert in logistics supply chain, trade compliance, and operational evaluation
- Proactive with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Excellent organizational skills with strong ownership mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Visio for project execution
- Working knowledge of supply chain, global logistics, and trade compliance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and results-oriented environment
- Strong judgment and discretion in building internal and external partnerships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Required Qualifications:
- Years of Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field and 4 years of relevant experience
OR
- High School diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain management, and/or project management
- Work Experience
- 4+ years of experience in a logistics environment or project management
- Proven track record of leading and developing teams focused on process improvement
- Experience working with 3PL companies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in logistics and supply chain management
- Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated leadership behaviors including integrity, innovation, teamwork, and customer focus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for complex or confidential information
Working Conditions:
- Office environment
- Requires extended periods of sitting and use of a computer, phone, and office equipment
- Domestic travel required
$68,640 to $80,080 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. The final amount will be determined based on qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
